About Us

Company Background:

Certified Editing is owned and operated by Valerie Ney.  Ms. Ney has over 15 years experience in proofreading, editing, and writing.  She has writing and editing experience in many industries including the legal, political, management consulting, and research fields.

Ms. Ney most recently was Vice President of Basis Research where she managed both research and political campaign writing and editing.  Ms. Ney was responsible for general business writing, grant research and writing, presentations, campaign literature, speeches, fundraising letters, and qualitative and quantitative research reports.  For her efforts in Maryland during the 2002 campaign cycle, Ms. Ney was awarded the Woman of the Year Award.  She was also elected to office in 2001 to the Annapolis Central Committee. In 2004, Ms. Ney received the honor of being asked to instruct a group of Chinese scholars on the principles of democracy.  She also worked for Fortune 500 companies, such as Ernst & Young.

Among Ms. Ney’s accomplishments are receiving “Certified Professional” status from Expert Rating (an ISO 9000-2001 organization) in Editing Skills, English Grammar, and English Vocabulary.  In addition, she was honored in early 2007 with an induction into the prestigious Strathmore’s Who’s Who registry and Cambridge Who’s Who.  Induction into Strathmore’s Who’s Who and Cambridge Who’s Who is limited to individuals who establish themselves as successful leaders in their profession.
